About Us...
A Design Firm
Alexander's Multihull Design designs mainly multihulls, now and then a monohull slips through.
Designs are made in all kinds of materials although the main stream is epoxy composite. Designs have all kind of shapes, one even resembled a Vikingship.
It is my philosophy that the client decides what he wants and that I make it work.

History
Alexander's Multihull Design started life in 1989 in Greece where I was for a Measurers Conference of the Int. Yacht Racing Union. On a terrace in Pireous I decided to leave my employer, the Netherlands Yachting Union, and start my own office. Before joining the N.Y.U. I worked several years with famous yards in Holland and England. Before that I designed several big multihulls like the Silver Cloud.
Since 1989 a lot of designs were made, mostly catamarans. Nearly from the beginning I used computers to design. The programs then were Vacanti Prolines and Generic Cad. After a brief spell with AutoCad I changed to Rhinoceros about 8 years ago.
My yachts have been build all over the world, in Holland, Latvia and Indonesia to name a few.
From the beginning I decided to stay small and rely on outsourcing when needed.

Future Goals
My future goals are simple. Design catamarans which will give pleasure and are earth friendly.
Now it is clear that luxury goods are not directly earth friendly. But one can make it as friendly as possible by removing unneccesary weight, equipment and use the right materials.
The 12th Dimension Series is an example. In these designs I have tried to bend the upward spiral of ever increasing weight into a downwards spiral. This leads to cost, weight and material reduction. Built with the right materials, which are not neccessary space-age materials but could well be plywood.
